Real estate Listing page redesign
Redesigning Houseful’s real estate listing pages to improve the design and address UX issues.
Houseful, an RBCx Company
2025
Summary
Mission
Houseful embarked on a massive code migration effort to strengthen security and compliance with RBC. This meant rebuilding the website from scratch, which presented an opportunity to redesign key business pages to improve visuals and fix UX issues.
My role
I led the end-to-end feature design, collaborating with product, engineering, legal, and copywriting partners. With limited time for testing, I relied on existing data and research, focusing on visual refinements.
Core responsibilities: Data analysis, website audit, competitor benchmarking, UI design, accessibility, prototyping, design QA, Jira ticket writing, and supporting developer & product teams.
Role
Design Owner, Product Designer
Project Team
Product Manager & Development Team.

My impact
At the time of writing this project showcase, these changes are just launching. Therefore, I don’t have data to measure impact. These are the intended impacts of the changes:
Increased agent contact form conversion
68% of users are on mobile, so a more prominent mobile CTA is likely to boost conversions.
Improved user experience and design
Optimized visual hierarchy, resolved bugs, and improved UX, informed by past research & data.
My process for this project
Because the listing page directly impacts revenue, all changes required regular stakeholder review. This limited the changes I could make for the MVP. I focused on essential improvements and documented additional enhancements for future iterations.
Problems
Misleading copy that didn’t match the user flow or action, leading to user frustration
Key information users value wasn’t prioritized (previous testing confirmed this)
Poor readability of some sections due to formatting and hierarchy
Confusing & duplicate tags
Open house details were rarely seen (under 20% scrolled to it)
Some lead forms and other features had bugs or were broken altogether
Challenge
How might we redesign Houseful’s listing page to reduce user confusuion and frustration, increase open house visibility and boost agent contact conversion?
The Before
My first step was to audit the listing page, document usability issues, review existing data and research to identify opportunities for improvement.
The after
I redesigned the page to improve hierarchy, readability, and visibility of key details like open house info. A major challenge was the lack of backend documentation, which made it hard to design for MLS compliance and regional rule variations. This required extensive investigation and collaboration with our real estate team and the MLS.
Mobile
The contact agent CTA is now fixed at the bottom of the screen, significantly improving visibility.
I moved the action bar (3D tour, call, share, save) from the middle of the screen to the top of the image section, where users expect to find it. It’s now sticky, staying visible as the users scroll.
The hierarchy now prioritizes key details users care about most—price, beds, baths, sq. ft. and parking. These elements are easier to find, and although some are now below the fold, 92% of users scroll to view them.
The open house banner was moved up, made more prominent, and readable. Misleading copy and links were removed.
Tags were simplified, removing duplicates and grouping them in one location instead of multiple.
Desktop
The agent contact form was shortened so the full form and CTA are visible within the viewport without scrolling.
The home details section was reorganized for readability and scanability, making it much easier to find information.
A max width was added to improve readability by preventing text and columns from stretching too wide—an issue on the old page.
I moved the map button from the overcrowded action bar (3D tour, share, save, map) and gave it its own distinct style to make it significantly easier to find.
Retrospective
The redesigned listing pages launched in November 2025 on a tight timeline to support our codebase migration. To meet the deadline, some scope was reduced, and I documented remaining UX improvement opportunities for future iterations. Despite the constraints, I improved both usability and visual design while navigating unclear requirements and backend logic. A major challenge was uncovering and documenting unclear MLS compliance rules to ensure Houseful’s listings met regional standards.
